Greetings:
We at Priority Mental Health would like to introduce ourselves to you. We are a two person operation, staff wise, but we like to think of our clients,
along with their family and friends, as part of our practice as well. Our Office Manager is Carol Ann Davidson. She plays a major role in the practice. When you meet her, you will better understand why we say that.
My name is Dr. Donna R Ramsey. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker(LSCW) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). I obtained my PhD from North Carolina State University State but it is non-clinical, so I make it clear that I am not a psychologist. I have a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from East Carolina University and a Master's Degree in Education and BS Degree in Psychology from Western Carolina University.
We are an outpatient mental health office. We work with children, adolescents and adults of all ages. Our primary treatment focus is individual psychotherapy, but we also do couples and family counseling. I have extensive experience as a result of a
broad and varied career path. My experiences include work within the juvenile justice system, the adult correctional system, child abuse prevention services, public school system, United States Army (retired Sergeant major), and even in a state psychiatric hospital. I serve most all populations, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender or culture. With 27 years military experience, I am available for veterans not only for help with those suffering with PTSD, but for other issues as well. I am trained in EMDR; largely used in helping with trauma.
Our office provides a down home
atmosphere, different from many
professional offices. Clients sense the
care and concern as soon as they enter;
which eases the anxiety for new clients.
It is also a factor in why we have such
a low “no show” rate. Clients, former
clients and family are a major referral
source, as well as primary care doctors,
medical specialists, hospitals and local
church pastors. We accept Medicare,
Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health,
Tri-Care, Humana and most other private insurances.
